Dr Pretorious Wuthergloom has once again returned to the hallowed halls of the Red Sandcastle Theatre to warn us all of the dangers which lurk within these books of old, which can be avoided by purchasing “Doc Wuthergloom’s Dark Grimoire Digest” of course! It’s full of useful spells and spine-tingling tales, without being in danger of tearing your soul into bits or destroying the universe, as is contained in the original volumes. Doc Wuthergloom tells cautionary tales of the perilous pitfalls of perusing such poisonous publications, all the while ensuring that the remedy is readily available for purchase.

Little Lib’ary of the Damned utilizes Eldritch Theatre’s unique blend of puppetry, magic, and mayhem (audience interaction) to create a spellbinding evening of theatre. From card tricks to mind reading, Doc Wuthergloom can truly do it all. All of the stories feature various hand puppets as their main characters, all of whom die violent, gory deaths before our very eyes. However, I have to admit, one of my favourite things is to count how many times Doc can work in “The Dread Necronomicon of the Mad Arab Abdul AlHazred” into his shows; it truly tickles me, and the more times it’s said, in full, in a row, the more I laugh.

The show within the show is watching Doc Wuthergloom (Eric Woolfe) interact with the audience members throughout the performance. Be warned: if you come in late, you will be picked on. This is a certainty which I have witnessed several times over. The way he can instantly hurtle insightful insults at the various participants is impressive, and makes for some of the most hilarious jokes in the production. His razor-sharp wit and knack for observation make for a truly unique show every time you see it. If I could, I would go back and watch it every night, just to see how different audiences act and react to what’s happening on stage.

Hauntingly hilarious in true Eldritch Theatre fashion, this is the perfect way to celebrate the spookiest time of the year!
